Broken layout, white screen, plugin conflict or a hacked site. Whatever's gone wrong with your WordPress site, I'll find it, fix it properly and tell you in plain English what happened.

// The problem

Recognise the symptoms?

Nobody arrives at this page on a good day. Whatever state your site is in, it's fixable.

  • The site is down and the clock is ticking

    Every hour offline is lost enquiries, lost sales and customers quietly wondering if you have gone out of business.

  • An update broke everything

    One plugin update and suddenly the layout is scrambled, the checkout is dead or all you have is a white screen.

  • You've been hacked

    Strange redirects, spam pages in Google, warnings in the browser. It feels violating, and every hour it stays up hurts your reputation.

  • The developer who built it is gone

    The site was built by someone who has since vanished, and nobody left knows how it works or where the passwords are.

  • Nobody will give you a straight answer

    The host blames the theme, a forum blames the host, and you just want someone to take ownership and sort it.

This is bread-and-butter work for me. Fifteen years of WordPress rescues means very little surprises me any more.

// The fixer

WordPress repairs done properly, not patched over

Fifteen years of white screens, fatal errors, plugin conflicts, failed migrations and hacked sites, across the 1,000+ websites I have built, hosted and maintained. Faults follow patterns; experience turns a day of guesswork into a quick, confident diagnosis.

Every repair fixes the root cause and ends with a plain-English report: what went wrong, what changed, and how we stop a repeat.

// What's included

What I fix, week in, week out.

  • Emergency white-screen and error recovery
  • Plugin and theme conflict resolution
  • Malware removal and hacked-site cleanup
  • Broken layout and styling repairs
  • Database and server-side issues
  • A clear report of the cause and the fix

Fast diagnosis

Fifteen years of fixing WordPress means most faults are found quickly. Urgent, site-down issues get priority.

Fixed properly

I fix the root cause, not the symptom, so the same problem does not come back a week later.

Explained clearly

You get a plain-English report of what went wrong, what I changed and how to stop it happening again.

// How it works

From broken to back online.

A repair should not be a mystery. This is exactly how every fix runs.

  1. Tell me what broke

    Call, email or use the form: what you saw, when it started, anything that changed. Site-down faults jump the queue.

  2. I diagnose it

    I get into the site, find the actual cause and tell you plainly what is wrong, what it will take, and what it will cost.

  3. You approve, I fix

    No blank cheques: work starts once you have said yes to a clear price. Root cause fixed, not just symptoms patched.

  4. Hardened and handed back

    The site comes back tested, with the hole closed and a plain-English report of what happened and how we stop a repeat.

// What it costs

Priced like a callout, because that's what it is

An emergency means stopping whatever I am building for someone else and picking up your site instead. The callout covers that, and everything after it is charged honestly by the hour.

Emergency callout

£150

Same working day. Covers diagnosis and the first hour, so a lot of faults are found and fixed without going any further.

Then, per hour

£95

Billed in half hours, with the running total told to you as it goes. No open-ended meter and no invoice you have not already agreed to.

Not actually urgent? Say so. Work that can wait for a slot is charged at the standard £70 an hour, with no callout fee at all.

Voteq came to our rescue last year when we had a website built by someone else who then left us juggling and trying to learn how to run a website! Thankfully Ash stepped in, without any drama's and had all the answers we needed. As a small charity, we don't have the luxury of big budgets but Ash has been so incredible for us. We would highly recommend.

// Common questions

Fixes & Repairs questions, answered.

What people ask when something has gone wrong.

How quickly can you fix my site?

Most fixes are completed the same or next working day. If your site is completely down, tell me when you get in touch and it goes to the front of the queue.

How much does a WordPress fix cost?

I diagnose first, then you get a clear price before any repair starts, never a blank cheque. Simple faults are quick and priced accordingly; bigger jobs like hack cleanups get a fixed quote. Genuine out-of-hours emergency work is available too, billed at a premium rate agreed with you before I start.

Can you fix a site another developer built?

Yes, it's a regular part of the job. I'll audit what's there, give you an honest view, then fix, finish or rebuild. If the previous developer has vanished, I can usually recover access.

My site has been hacked. What should I do?

Get in touch straight away and don't delete anything, the evidence helps. I isolate the site, remove the malware, close the hole, harden WordPress against repeats and get Google to drop any warnings.

What do you need from me to start?

WordPress admin access, plus hosting or FTP if you have it. Only got some of those? Start anyway: recovering access is often step one of the rescue.

Will you keep my site from breaking again?

Every repair ends with a report covering the cause and prevention. Most fix clients then move onto a care plan, where updates, backups and monitoring stop the next fault early.

Do you work with businesses outside Derbyshire?

Yes. I'm based in Chesterfield but repairs are remote by nature, and I fix sites across the UK every week. Wherever you are: direct contact with me until it's right.
