The things clients usually ask about WordPress Website Development before we start.
How much does a WordPress website cost?
Websites start at £3,000 and online shops at £4,500, with bespoke design included in both. Where a project actually lands depends on its size, the brand and what the site has to do, so you get a fixed quote in writing after a discovery session and there are no surprises. I'm not the cheapest, deliberately: you're paying for the strategy and build quality that make a site generate enquiries, not just exist.
Is design included, or do I need to bring a designer?
It's included, and you don't need a designer or a bought theme. Every site is designed from scratch around your brand and your goal. We start with the home page, designed and built for real in the browser so you can click through it on your laptop and your phone rather than judging a flat picture. Once you're happy with its structure, look and feel, the inner pages follow in the same language, and we keep iterating until everybody is happy.
How long does a website build take?
Most builds take three to six weeks depending on size and how quickly content is ready. You get regular previews during the build and direct contact with me throughout.
Do you use page builders or off-the-shelf themes?
No bought themes: your site is built bespoke to your brand. I use the right tools for the job, Elementor for precise, editable layouts, ACF for structured content, set up carefully so the site stays fast, with custom code wherever your needs go further.
Do you build custom themes or headless WordPress?
Yes. Elementor and ACF for flexible, editable sites, fully custom-coded themes for something completely unique, or headless WordPress when performance, scale or a particular stack call for it. The approach fits the brief, never one-size-fits-all.
Do you only work with businesses in Derbyshire?
No. I'm based in Chesterfield and work across Derbyshire, Matlock, Derby, Sheffield and the East Midlands, plus clients throughout the UK. Locals get a developer they can meet; everyone gets regular previews and direct contact, so distance is never a barrier.
Will my website work on mobiles and tablets?
Yes, every build is mobile-first and responsive as standard, tested on real devices rather than a resized browser window.
Can you help with SEO and hosting too?
SEO fundamentals are built into every site: clean structure, schema markup, fast load times, proper heading hierarchy. Fast managed UK hosting and full launch migration are available too.
What happens after the site launches?
You get 30 days of post-launch support included. After that most clients move onto a monthly care plan, where I keep the site updated, backed up and monitored, or you can manage it yourself.
