Working in London
The London work on my list is not London-flavoured work. A national governing body. A contractor running sites across the south east. A company selling compliance documents. Three organisations with nothing in common, except that the website had a job to do and somebody had to be accountable for it. That is the pattern down here. Organisations that already know what they want built, and would rather deal with the person building it than with an account team. If what you actually need is a brand team and paid media under one roof, hire an agency, and I will say so on the first call.
How it works
This is remote work and I will not pretend otherwise. Projects run on video calls, screen sharing and a live link you can open on your phone, which is how my London work has always run.

When a project genuinely calls for it, yes. In practice that is rare, because a screen share is better than a meeting room for looking at a website together.
