Why hire a Derbyshire developer over a Manchester agency?

Can you take over a site somebody else built?
Yes, happily. I will audit what is there, tell you plainly what is worth keeping, and take it on without drama. A site does not need to have been built by me to be looked after by me.
Who looks after the site once it is live?
Most clients stay on a care plan afterwards: updates, backups, monitoring and a developer on hand when something needs sorting. Ad hoc help is there when you need it too.
Do I need a web designer or a web developer?
For most projects both, and here they are the same person. The web designer side decides how it looks, reads and persuades; the web developer side makes it real, fast and easy to update. Splitting those roles between two people is where budgets and briefs usually go wrong.
Why a WordPress developer rather than any website developer?
Because the odds are your site already runs WordPress, like most business sites in Manchester and everywhere else. A website developer who works in WordPress every day knows why a site has gone slow, which plugins age badly, and how to build things that survive updates rather than fight them.
