The Digital Media Centre in the town centre has been incubating small tech and creative businesses for years, and the regeneration around it has pulled in independent retail and food. That gives the town two very different sets of clients. The digital businesses know exactly what they want and mostly need capacity rather than advice. The independents need the opposite: somebody who will explain the decisions plainly and build something they can run themselves afterwards. I am comfortable at both ends, and the second is often the more satisfying work.
